What is an International Student?
An international student is a non-immigrant visitor seeking to take courses in the U.S. temporarily on an F1 non-immigrant academic visa. If you are an immigrant with U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status (a “green card”), you are not considered an international student.
U.S. permanent residents or dual nationals with U.S. citizenship and refugee visa holders are not considered International students.
According to Minnesota State Board Policies and Procedures, 3.4 Undergraduate Admissions, “International student means a student who is required to be registered under the federal Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).”
If you are on a different visa and are wondering if you can enroll, please send an inquiry to the International Student Department at International@HennepinTech.edu.
Update
