Looking to expand your impact beyond emergency response? Community paramedics help bridge healthcare and community services by supporting patients whose needs are not life-threatening but still require medical attention, monitoring, or support at home or in the community.
Professionals in this field work within healthcare teams to assist patients with established plans of care, connect individuals to health and social resources, and address factors that influence health outcomes. Topics may include the role of the Primary Care Technician, community health systems, social determinants of health, prevention strategies, and quality improvement practices.
Community paramedics play an important role in modern healthcare by strengthening care coordination, reducing unnecessary emergency service use, and improving the health of individuals and communities.

Emergency Medical Services advisory committee meets twice yearly to review current courses and promote or develop new courses to help our students grow in the ever-changing job market. Students completing our program are able to become certified through the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. These are agencies that oversee our training standards and certify students after completing the national evaluations.
