Incomplete (I) Grade
- Incomplete-temporary grade based on written agreement between student and instructor and assigned only in exceptional circumstances.
- At the discretion of the instructor, you may be granted an incomplete grade (I) when the instructor believes you can be reasonably expected to complete the work for a course.
- An “I” grade will automatically become an “F” grade at the end of the next term (not including summer sessions) if requirements to complete course work have not been satisfactorily met.
- Instructors have the option of setting an earlier completion date for the student. The student and the faculty will need to complete a Request for Incomplete Grade Option form (contract) outlining the agreed upon conditions for course completion.
- A grade of “I” is not included when calculating grade point average or earned credits. However, students are cautioned to utilize the Incomplete Grade option only when absolutely necessary, as a grade of “I” will count as credits attempted but not completed when calculating your completion rate for Satisfactory Academic Progress. When the I-grade is updated to the earned grade, the Academic Progress for the student is recalculated.
