Overview
The Construction Electrician diploma prepares students for the high-demand career as an entry-level electrician. This program is designed for students new to the electrician industry or students seeking to advance in their current career. The program provides the hands-on training and real-world experience students need, from reading blueprints and wiring schematics to installing and maintaining complex electrical systems, the program covers all fundamental aspects of the trade. Successful completion of the Construction Electrician diploma program at Hennepin Technical College will meet the requirements for certification for electricians by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
Award Outcomes
- Demonstrate proper safety practices and procedures at all times in the classroom, shop, and building sites as required by the construction electricity industry.�

- Interpret the National Electrical Code accurately.�
- Learn principles to install and control electrical systems properly and efficiently in Residential, Commercial, and Industrial buildings.�
